Have you ever had to scour the lake after you or someone else has taken a boat guide
off to look for the magnet that was located under it?
Worse yet, would you want to risk your prop hitting those hard-to-see lumps of neutrally-floating iron?
Had problems with making sure that the poles are right-side up for ABT?
Wished there was an easier way to bring your slalom/jump course up to tournament spec?
Look no further - the solution is right here with PT Buoys.
Built with uncompromising quality in the State of Oklahoma, PT Buoys have been used
for several high-level tournaments, including the 2006 US Open, USA Water Ski Hall-of-Fame
Lake, Malibu Open, NCWSA National Championships, and countless World-Record tournaments
with faultless reliability.
Among the benefits to these integrated magnetic buoys are:
- For easier course maintenance and quicker changeover during tournaments, you have only one
item to install and remove.
- You cannot accidentally reverse the magnet polarity.
- The magnets cannot sink down and cause timing problems.
- The magnets cannot separate from boat guide and get lost.
- The positive attaching hardware cannot separate from the buoy.
- Precision Timing Buoys cost less than buying separate buoys and magnets.
Precision Timing Buoys (PT Buoys) was founded by Warren Dempsey who has more than
20 years experience in the sport of competition water skiing. He is an AWSA Senior Driver and
Senior Judge who has worked numerous world record, regional and national tournaments. He is
knowledgeable about the installation and operation of PerfectPass®
speed control systems and has an extensive experience with tournament Technical
Control issues. He has worked with and assisted the Chief Technical Controllers at the US Open,
Water Ski Pro-Tour, NCWSA Nationals and many other record tournaments. He also installs and
sets-up the timing magnets and performs surveys of slalom and jump courses. Warren is employed
by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and works in the National Engineering office for
Air Traffic Control systems. He is the system engineer for the FAA's high-density national
microwave radio communications link network and has more than 30 years experience in the
electronics field.
Warren has used both his background in electronics and knowledge of magnet fields, along with his
years of experience in the sport of competition water skiing, to design and build the very best
timing magnets available.
PT Buoys timing products use several unique design and assembly features that no
other timing magnets on the market have. PT Buoys jump timing buoys use modified
magnetic fields with large 5.25 inch ring magnets, a PT Buoys exclusive design
feature, that are far more efficient than standard jump magnets on the market. The modified
magnetic fields provide overlapping course coverage, providing 100% assurance of timing triggers
in the jump event. PT Buoys slalom timing buoys (boat guides with integrated magnets)
have 4 inch, one piece ring magnets that elevate the magnetic field near the
PerfectPass® Smart Timer sensor position in the boats. The buoys ensure
uniform magnetic field depths, providing the most accurate and reliable slalom timing available
for tournament applications. Slalom entrance gate magnets come with a spacer attached, another
PT Buoys exclusive design feature, to keep the magnet safely below the path of
the ski and fin. PT Buoys standard under-the-buoy slalom magnets use 4 inch,
one piece ring magnets and also have several unique design and assembly features.
All PT Buoys timing products are performance proven and have been used at
the US Open, USA Water Ski Hall-of-Fame Lake, AWSA, USA Jr. Team Trials, NCWSA
National Championships, and the USA Water Ski Disabled Nationals
and Disabled Worlds and are currently being used at numerous lakes across the US and Mexico.
The goal at PT Buoys is to provide the very best designed and manufactured
magnetic timing products available on the market!
